Asst. Prof. Kanix Bukkavesa PhD, CFA

Experienced in managing over 1,100 individually-managed portfolios totaling over $1 billion in assets under management (AUM); performed optimization for global asset allocation and tax-efficient strategy within mutual-fund wrap program at Fidelity Investment (FMR Co., Inc.) for over five years; assisted in coordinating research and implementation of strategic benchmark allocation, tactical asset allocation, and other asset allocation strategy, using after-tax adjusted efficient frontiers, Black Litterman, core satellite, etc.

Kanix Bukkavesa has received her Ph.D. in International Business from Southern New Hampshire University, New Hampshire, and her master’s degree in Finance from Boston College in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to this, she had received her Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineer from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Some honors which she has received during her studies are Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Florida for her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and Magna Cum Laude from Boston College for her master’s degree in Finance. She has also won the AMATYC Award in 1997 for Outstanding Achievement in a national mathematics competition, the outstanding graduate award from the school of Electrical Engineering at USF, and she also received the IEEE Florida West Coast Engineering Student for the Year 2000.

Kanix has held many positions throughout her career. She is currently working as a Lecturer at Mahidol University International College.  Before taking this position, she had experience in Investment Banking working as an Assistant Vice President at the largest Thai local bank, Siam Commercial Bank, concentrating on the Telecom Industry and Private Equity Investments. Before starting her career in the Emerging Market, she was a portfolio manager at Fidelity Investments, Boston, Massachusetts, USA managing AUM of $1 billion in assets. She had also worked for AIG (S.E. Asia) as a Management Associate where she implemented a call center marketing campaign for direct marketing and acted in a leadership role in completing a worksite marketing deal with the Telephone Organization of Thailand. Before entering into the business career, she started her career in engineering with Triquint Semiconductor, Hillsboro, Oregon, where she received the President’s Award during her tenure.
